Free checks for your website, domain and email
Is my website down? Free website status checker
Enter a website to see whether it answers right now: its address in public DNS and whether HTTPS answers – and, from launch, the page itself checked from outside your network.
What this checker looks at
Whether public DNS gives the site an address, whether it answers over HTTPS with a valid certificate, and the status the page returns when Xovris’s probe loads it.
What a failing result means
A DNS failure means browsers find no address for the site. An HTTPS failure means browsers warn or refuse to connect. A server error (5xx) means the site answered but failed, so visitors get an error page.
How to fix it
Start with the first part that failed: DNS problems are fixed at your DNS provider, certificate problems with your host, and server errors in the application or its hosting. Your host’s status page says whether the problem is theirs.
Questions people ask
- Is it down for everyone or just me?
- Today this check runs in your own browser, so it shows what your network sees: a failure here while friends can open the site points to your device, your network or a cached DNS answer. From launch, Xovris also checks from outside your network, which tells down-for-everyone from just-you.
- How do I know the moment it goes down?
- Add the site to Xovris: from launch the Free plan checks it every 5 minutes and alerts you by email or Slack the moment a check fails.
Keep it checked, free
Xovris checks your site every 5 minutes and alerts you by email or Slack the moment it stops answering – then works out why.
Xovris opens at launch – join early access and your site is the first thing it checks.
