Free checks for your website, domain and email
Free domain expiry checker: when does my domain expire?
Enter a domain to read its registration from the registry’s public record: when it expires, its registrar and its status.
What this checker looks at
The domain’s registration data from RDAP, the registries’ public lookup service: the expiry date, the registrar and the status codes the registry has set.
What a failing result means
When a registration lapses, the domain stops resolving: the website and email go dark together, and after the registry’s grace period anyone can register it.
How to fix it
Renew through your registrar and turn on automatic renewal with a payment method that will still be valid on the renewal date. Make sure the registrar’s renewal emails reach an inbox someone reads.
Questions people ask
- What happens the day a domain expires?
- Most registries keep it in a grace period first, when the owner can still renew, but the registrar usually stops it resolving, so the site and email go offline straight away.
- Who can see this information?
- Expiry dates and registrars are public in RDAP for most domains; the owner’s personal details are usually redacted.
